# Certification Examples
## Certifications help your gym track which customers are qualified to participate in specific activities, use certain equipment, or access specialized areas. By creating certifications in Approach, staff can quickly identify a customer's qualifications during check-in and throughout their visit.

### Climbing Certifications
### Top Rope Belay Certification
**Abbreviation:** TR
Confirms that a customer can safely belay and top rope climb without staff supervision.
**Common Requirements:**
- Proper harness fitting
- Knot tying
- Belay device usage
- Belay safety checks
- Demonstrated top rope belay competency
### Lead Climbing Certification
**Abbreviation:** Lead
Confirms that a customer can safely lead belay and climb and manage lead climbing risks.
**Common Requirements:**
- Clipping technique
- Lead belaying
- Falling procedures
- Safety assessment by staff
### Auto Belay Orientation
**Abbreviation:** AutoB
Indicates the customer has been trained on proper auto belay usage.
**Common Requirements:**

### Example Certification Setup Guidelines
When creating certifications:
- Use a clear, descriptive name.
