What is Postmark?
Postmark is 3rd party integration with Approach that allows you to send customized transactional and marketing emails provided free of charge to Approach customers with a one time set up fee.
What can my emails look like?
Approach does provide a lot of templates for you. You have the full liberty to customize however you would like.
Here is a sample of a basic membership template:
Here is an example of how far you could take an email!
What templates does Approach provide?
Approach provides the templates listed below. Most are self explanatory. See below the ones that are not for a brief description:
- Booking
- FCFS Confirmation
- Form Request
- Gift Cards
- Membership Details
- PKPass
- A link to QR codes for customers
- Receipt
- Staff Notification
- For sending staff a notification when an associated event has been booked
- Ticket Confirmation
- Waiver-link
- Welcome
Does Approach set this up for me or maintain it?
Approach gets you in the door, ie gives you your log in to the environment to set up your own emails within the templates provided. Approach does not do any ongoing maintenance beyond giving you access.
Do I need to be able to code or write in HTML?
You do not need to be able to write in code, however whoever is setting up these emails for you WILL need to be able to write in HTML and have that skill set. We do not set the emails themselves up for you. We provide access and basic templates.
Do I have to pay for Postmark?
We charge a one time set up fee of $100. After that, Approach covers the remaining costs. There is no contract of any kind. We can disable the service at any time for you should you choose.
How do I get started?
If you want to get access to your own Postmark server, drop us an email at help@approach.app with the subject line "Sign me up for Postmark!" and we would be happy to get this ball rolling for you!
What are all of the steps involved after I say I want to go for it?
- Client reaches out that they are interested
- We create their server and push the templates to the server
- We add a user in postmark and invite the client
- We share edit access to only the new server
- We notify the client on how to login to postmark and that they got the invite
- We keep them on the old server until they are ready to go live with the new server
- Once they reach out and say they are ready to go live, they tell us the time and date and we switch it.
- They are now live on the new server!
Can an individual transaction email be turned off?
No. Postmark is an all or nothing service with it's basic service and the custom server.
Can emails be parceled out by individual location?
Yes and no. with both the basic out of the box Postmark and the custom server, the settings are global but the variants are local. Receipts will display specific gyms for multi location gyms, but the styling will be the same across the board.
Can members opt out of recurring billing emails?
Yes, more on this subject can be found in our Automated Receipt Management article.
