Enhancements & Quality of Life Updates 🚀

Payment Method Management

We're introducing a series of improvements to how credit card information is saved, managed, and displayed in the Customer Portal. These enhancements address ongoing issues with accidental or incorrect card tokenization, unauthorized charges, and limited customer control over payment methods.

Project Goals:

  • Prevent unintended card tokenization and unauthorized charges (e.g., customers paying for someone else).

  • Provide operators with flexibility in how cards are saved during POS workflows.

  • Ensure seamless and automatic card capture for membership purchases.

  • Empower customers to view, manage, and delete stored cards from their accounts.

  • Offer opt-out controls during purchases made through the Portal.

Main App Save Card Default Setting

We have added a setting for operators to define whether cards should be saved by default after POS transactions. This can be found by navigating to "Settings"-> "Defaults"--> "Location Based"

On membership types now, you have the ability to override this setting. For example, you want to not automatically save card information UNLESS a certain membership type is in a cart. You can enable this on each membership type now so that when those specific membership types are in a cart, the card will automatically save.

Enhanced Payment Method Management (Portal)

Before this enhancement, the portal only displayed the primary card, limiting the users control and visibility.

Now, all card associated with a user's account are displayed. With that, users now have the ability to:

    • Reassign their primary card.

    • Delete a card from their profile only if it is not the current primary when they have a membership. Allow deleting of primary card if they do not have a membership.

Opt-Out of Saving Payment Information (Portal Purchase Flow)

In our continued pursuit to allow for more control from the user, during the checkout process in the Portal, offer customers the option to:

    • Save the card to their profile.

    • Not save the card.

Customers can also be required to save their card after purchasing a membership on the portal if the setting for the membership purchased has been enabled.

Bug Fixes 🐞

Membership Snapshot not Updating on Future Holds Set- When a future hold date was set on a membership, the membership history was not logging the "hold" update when said hold date was met.
